- The Marching Lancers had a fantastic day at the 2024 KBA Marching Championships! We placed in the top 12 during the preliminary round, advanced to the finals, and finished 9th overall out of 24 of the best bands in Kansas.

Marching Band Text-Drive Fundraiser Thursday, 10/24
- 6-7:30pm in the SME band room. We are hoping to raise $30,000 for new marching band equipment and travel: upgraded field carts & bluetooth speakers for practice metronomes & show runs, new uniform supplements, 2025 show design, trailer enhancements, Winter Park Ski trip support and more
- All Students please fill out your contact sheets by Wednesday, 10/22
- Sizable individual cash prizes for the top participants!
ECKMEA District Honor Band Signups & Fees
- The attached list of students have signed up for the ECKMEA Honor Band auditions on November 9th at Gardner-Edgerton HS.
- Fees are $18 per audition – e.g. if you are doing 2 concert instruments or 1 concert/1 jazz, it’s $36
- Checks made payable to SME Band, or cash in labeled/sealed envelope delivered to the band office mailbox outside Mr. Toepfer’s office.
- Students may sign up until 10/24 with an additional fee, total of $25 per audition.
Band Fees – Dues – Contributions
- As we wrap up the season, we still have some outstanding band fees from students. With the busy start to the year and all the goings-on in the band, it’s easy to forget.
- If you have not paid your band fees, please do so ASAP. Payment arrangements can be made – please contact Mr. Toepfer.
