SME Band Mattress Sale 2021 Kickoff Meeting
- The mattress sale is back, and will be held Sunday May 2nd 2021. This is our one big fundraiser for the year, so please help us spread the word. We have earned as much as $10,000 in a single day, and it requires very little work.
- This year’s kickoff meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, April 13th @ 6:30pm before our monthly Band Booster Meeting.

- If you didn’t participate in the KSHSAA Solo & Ensemble Festival, or you’d like to take your solo one step further, there is another opportunity! Deadline for registration is this week.

Seminar & Practicing: We are picking back up with Prescott Videos & Percussion 5-minute drills. We are on Week 7 now! Prioritize this during your weekly practice, due 4/18. If you are behind, please come see us for a seminar pass. You are more than welcome to work on those during seminar.
Symphonic Band:

- Continue Sightreading, Molly on the shore, Firebird suite
- Remote Students – Follow along with rehearsal
Wednesday:
- Warm-up (Habits): Tone & Technique, TOS scale chorales

- Remote Students – Work on Prescott Videos asynchronously
Friday:
- Full Rehearsal – Warm-up, rhythm work, TOS scales, continue with M/W charts or sightread new

Concert Band

Music Theory
- Tuesday/Thursday: More study on musical textures & cultures, ear training (inversions of 7th chords, melodic/rhythmic dictation, part writing chord progressions, Musical Links Investigations (MLI)
