Olathe Marching Festival
- Once again, congratulations on a great day at the Olathe Marching Festival yesterday. We had our best run of the year in our Finals performance, earned a 2nd place trophy in our division, made the top 10, and improved our score from prelims. Thanks for a great year!
- It was quite a team effort to support the band at the festivals and football games this year. Thanks for everything that the volunteers did. From truck work, to transport, loading, feeding, filming, show set up, sound engineering, cheering, recruiting, paying the entry fees, donating water, and assisting with uniforms, we covered a bit of everything at these outings. Yesterday was a great finish to an amazing marching season. Thank you for all of your help!
Marching Band Rehearsals this week
- Monday — judges comments & video, concert instrument rentals, band room cleanup
- Tuesday — technique & scale books, sight read music for December concert
- Wednesday — continue above, audition prep
- Friday — sight read for December concert
Symphonic & Concert Band Auditions
- Wednesday, 11/6, during class
- Auditions will be “blind” (judges will not see you), judges will be independent educators & professional musicians
- All students are expected to audition regardless of enrollment. It is a great opportunity to work on individual musicianship and gain experience auditioning
- Audition materials are posted in Google Classroom and are available in the band room.
East Central KMEA District Honor Band Auditions
- Saturday, 11/9 at Olathe East High School
- All students must arrive by 7:15am
East Fund “Lancer Roundtable” Patron’s Party Saturday 11/2
- Select members from the Blue Knights jazz band performing
