- First Drum Major Practice: Thursday, April 22nd – 7:00 A.M.
Instrument Safari: May 13th 5:00-7:00 PM
This is an important event to recruit elementary band and strings students for next year! What we need:
- 5-7 students willing to “demonstrate” each group of instruments for elementary school students – Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet and Trombone only.
- 10 students to be runners, traffic assisters, sign makers, etc. Also, if anyone is interested in making us a graphic of the safari “map” please let us know!

Symphonic & Jazz Band Placement Auditions for 2021-2022
- Materials will be posted in Canvas Monday, 4/19. All current students grades 8-11 will complete a basic audition. Students wishing to make Symphonic Band or the Blue Knights Jazz Ensemble will complete a more advanced audition.
- Audition videos will be due 5/7/2021
SME Band Mattress Sale 2021
- The mattress sale is back, and will be held Sunday May 2nd 2021 from 10am-5pm. This is our one big fundraiser for the year, so please help us spread the word. We have earned as much as $10,000 in a single day, and it requires very little work. All you need to do:

Students: Week-At-A-Glance Information
Practice Videos: All students are expected to complete prescott Videos & Percussion 5-minute drills. We are on Week 8 now, and it’s the last Prescott assignment of the year! Prioritize this during your weekly practice, due 4/25. If you are behind, please come see us for a seminar pass. You are more than welcome to work on those during seminar.

Monday :
- Warm-up (Habits book): tone & technique, rhythm, sight-reading
- Noisy Wheels of Joy, Mystery on Mena Mountain, Molly on the Shore, Infernal Dance
- Remote Students – Follow along with rehearsal
Wednesday:
- Warm-up (Habits): Tone & Technique, TOS scale chorales
- Mystery on Mena Mountain, Molly on the Shore, Noisy Wheels of Joy, Infernal Dance
- Remote Students – Work on Prescott Videos asynchronously
Friday:
- Full Rehearsal of all concert pieces
- Remote Students – Follow along with rehearsal
